Founded in 1996 by the non-profit Institute for Agriculture & Trade Policy (IATP), Peace Coffee started as a for-profit entity operating out of their basement. Their mission was to purchase coffee at fair prices and create a market to sell it in the Midwest and beyond, thus supporting their advocacy for family farms around the globe.

Are our products high quality? Absolutely. We roast coffee daily in an organic and SQF certified facility. Our Quality Team meticulously tastes all of our offerings at different points in the process to ensure freshness, flavor, and consistency.

Our Priorities: People - We build direct long-term relationships with farmer cooperatives, offering powerful economies of scale for otherwise marginalized farmers. We also donate three cents per bag to the Climate, Carbon and Coffee fund to support coffee producers in combating climate change. Additionally, all of our employees receive competitive pay and supportive benefits.

Practice - We believe in minimizing our impact on the planet and giving back to our communities. We reduce our carbon footprint by delivering a third of our coffee by bicycle year-round. As the first B Corp Certified coffee company in Minnesota, we proudly consider people, profit, and the planet to be equally important to our success. Our green headquarters in the heart of Minneapolis includes geothermal heating, solar power, and a rooftop garden with beehives.
